Mapeflex PU 45 FT is specifically formulated as an elastic adhesive for all the most common construction materials, whether of the same or different nature, for indoor and outdoor use, as a replacement or complement to mechanical fastenings.

Mapeflex PU 45 FT is a thixotropic adhesive/sealant (high viscosity for easy application), single-component (ready to use), polyurethane-based, with a high elastic modulus, solvent-free, and low environmental impact.

Mapeflex PU 45 FT cures by reacting with moisture in the air and, thanks to its characteristics, offers high durability guarantees, being suitable for use on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Used as an adhesive in thicknesses not exceeding 3 mm, its high adhesion properties and fast curing allow Mapeflex PU 45 FT to be used to bond various materials and glue on multiple surfaces such as cement and derivatives, cellular concrete, brick, steel, copper, aluminum, pre-lacquered surfaces in general, glass, mirror, plaster, wood and derivatives, ceramics, clinker, insulating materials in general, plastics such as PVC, acrylic glass, fiberglass.

Used as a sealant: Sealing expansion and control joints subject to movements up to 20% of the average joint width in:
▫ industrial floors subjected to vehicle traffic, including heavy vehicles;▫ concrete floors in indoor and outdoor parking lots, supermarkets, shopping centers, and warehouses; floors and ceramic coverings, even in places subjected to heavy traffic such as supermarkets, industrial environments with forklift circulation, etc., concrete walls and, in general, vertical structures both outdoors and indoors where a thixotropic product is required; sealing cracks; sealing ventilation ducts and cable passage tubes; sealing sheet metal elements such as flashings, gutters, and rainwater channels; sealing general meeting joints.

Application:

• Permitted application temperature: from +5°C to +35°C
• Skin formation: 35 minutes
• Final curing: 3.3 mm / 24 h – 5.2 mm / 48 h – 8.5 mm / 7 days
  

Cleaning:

Mapeflex PU 45 can be cleaned from surfaces adjacent to the joint, tools, clothing, etc., with toluene or alcohol before it hardens; always avoid contact of any solvent with the fresh sealant surface to prevent compromising proper polymerization; after curing, it can only be removed mechanically.

Correct use warnings:

▪ Do not use on dusty or crumbly surfaces.
▪ Do not use on wet surfaces.
▪ Do not use on surfaces dirty with oils, greases, or release agents that could prevent adhesion.
▪ Do not use on bituminous surfaces where oil exudation is possible.
▪ Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C.
▪ Do not contaminate the fresh product surface with alcohol to avoid compromising proper polymerization.
